Admissions

Admission Process

Take a look at our Parent & Student Handbook.

Step 1:  Schedule a Tour/Interview

Each family interested in applying for admission should schedule a tour and interview with the administration team at VCA.  This time together will help determine if the VCA model is the best education option for the family and student(s). This meeting also enables us to personally answer any questions a new family has about VCA.

Email us at  vca@vineyardchristianacademy.org to schedule a tour.

Step 2:  Complete the Admissions Form

If a new family would like to pursue admissions to VCA, the family should complete the online application below (one per child):

Application Form

This application provides VCA with the basic family information, emergency contacts, as well as, relevant medical conditions and general education history.  Additionally, completing the permissions in the application enables a potential student to be on the school campus for a shadow day. Online admission ensures the application will be stamped with the date and time received.  This date will be used, if necessary, to determine the order of admission in the event of a class closure due to space availability.

Note: There is a $50 one time application fee per student. Note: All students must be five years of age by September 1st in order to attend Kindergarten.

Step 3:  Set up a Shadow Day for your student(s)

After the application has been approved, potential students are encouraged to arrange time during VCA “Shadow Week.”  These Shadow Weeks occur the second week of every month while school is in session and give the student a chance to attend class, get an idea of classroom work, and meet the students and teachers.

Step 4: Additional Testing and Evaluation as needed

Placement testing is required as appropriate for all new students starting at VCA.  The tests determine the appropriate grade level of a student’s Math and English skills in relation to our curriculum.  At each grade level, the target score is “proficient.” Based on parent recommendations, sometimes this is done before the Shadow day to ensure the shadow is completed in the appropriate grade level.

Step 5: Registration & Acceptance

Once a final decision has been made by both the family and the school, registration can occur, and the spot in the classroom will be reserved upon receipt of applicable fees.
